With a population of 1000 inhabitants, which is growing rapidly during the summer due to tourists.
The main work of the inhabitants is the production of green olives of Halkidiki ("fatty olive" as the Greeks called it), which is the main source of income.
In this area, is the ancient city of Mikiverna, which was independent and a port of ancient Olynthos, like the prehistoric area of Molyopyrgos.
