Vourvourou Sithonia

If an area could offer a sea with the features of a lake, a mountain covered with dense forests and nine unique islands, visible from the beach, would you still hesitate to take your summer vacation?

Vourvourou is located just 10 km from Agios Nikolaos (120 km from Thessaloniki) on the peninsula of Sithonia and at a glance enriches the spectacle with various images and relaxes the visitor with its natural peace.

You will find accommodation by the beach, where the soul calms down with the melodic whisper of the leaves. Apart from the clear blue waters and the fresh fish in the taverns, one of the possibilities offered by the visitor is the boat ride in Diaporos, the largest of the nine islands of Vourvourou, located opposite the bay.

There you can see the clearest and most turquoise waters of the Mediterranean and at the same time you will discover the most secluded beaches of Halkidiki.

In Vourvourou, you can see the settlement of fishermen that is still inhabited, where the visitor can buy fresh fish. Walking along the sea you will reach the narrow peninsula of Xifara and then in a secluded bay, the beach Karydi.

If you prefer the mountain, you can walk on the paths of the imposing Itamos and enjoy the fascinating view of the bay of Vourvourou from the top and if you are lucky you will see wild deer or the sunny roofs of Agios Nikolaos.

It is also worth visiting the professors of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. It is an exemplary settlement on a pan-Hellenic scale, with absolute respect for environmental rules.
